Resident from September to December 2024, Ligia Dias is presenting Pyramide inversée until April 2025 at the Forum Meyrin in Switzerland (Geneva). As part of the production process, the artist created Le Bureau des Objets Donnés, a call for object donations addressed to the local residents. Using an industrial net as a grid, Dias blends the modest and the precious by assembling found and given objects, each bearing a unique story.
To accompany the project, Ligia Dias invited the journalist and writer Salomé Kiner to write a text. She mixes anecdotes about donations to Le Bureau des objets donnés with fun facts, such as the world's largest chandelier in a commercial mall Kuwait City. This kind of dialogue is an integral part of Ligia Dias' approach, whose work is a contemporary commentary on our relationship with the everyday objects and works of art that we have inherited or not, and that we will pass on.
